Butterfly Patisserie engaged my product description copywriting for two of their latest sweet treat and dessert selections.
I was tasked with creating short, punchy product descriptions for 22 items bringing the desserts to life on the boutique’s online shop.
Tempting Treats
With only the product title and picture to go by, the challenge was to make each dessert sound as tempting as it looks to entice purchases.
In addition, each product description had a limited word-count and the copywriting needed to communicate the unique and delicious taste of each treat in a small space. It was important that every word work without losing the brand’s luxury and indulgent messaging.
Writing Effective Product Descriptions
Each of the 22 product descriptions does more than simply describe the dessert or sweet. Each uses emotive and descriptive language to complement the beautiful imagery and make the treat sound irresistible. The descriptions give practical information about what each dessert contains while presenting an indulging experience to sell the product.
